Last Friday February the 26th, at UNPHU “Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña” in Santo Domingo, the project AMPERE has been launched.

The project ““Asset Mapping Platform for Emerging countRies Electrification” is born to collect information about power grids in Dominican Republic.

Ampere relies on drone equipped with Galileo /EGNOS satellite receivers, which will do accurate survey of power grids to prevent electrical energy dispersions.

The launch of this project, supported by European Union, will aim to a more efficient technical management in Dominican energy sector.

During his speech, the European Ambassador in the Dominican Republic, Gianluca Grippa, has underlined how research programmes such “Horizon 2020” represent for the European Union a valid contribution to global development in several sector: healthcare, energy, transports, climate changes and safety.

AMPERE consortium is coordinated by “Free Soft&Tech Srl” and brings together TopView Srl (Italy), Geonumerics SL (Spain), La Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena (Santo Domingo), Università degli Studi Federico II (Italy) e Business Integration Partners Belgium (Belgium).
